Entry Requirements

There are no pre-requisite requirements for this course. However individuals should:

  • be 18 years old or over
  • have completed year 11 or equivalent
  • International Students are required to have an English ability at the IELTS level 6.0 or equivalent

Using discretion and judgement, they work with some independence and under limited supervision using plans, policies and procedures to guide work activities.

  • This qualification provides a pathway to work as a cook in organisations such as restaurants, hotels, clubs, pubs, cafes, and coffee shops.

Work Placement (200 Hours)

Work placement forms part of this qualification and Le Rosey Hospitality Institute has strong relationship with the hospitality industry through our industry consultants and associations. Though students are responsible for organising their own work placements LRHI has been able secure a range of suitable work place host sites for our students in several commercial hospitality establishments.
Students will need to complete 200 hours of work placement for the unit SITHCCC043 – Work effectively as a cook, in an approved Commercial Kitchen
